The Shipdex protocol is the International Business Rules which have been developed to allow the exchange of technical and logistic data within the shipping community.
The Protocol stipulates that ASD S1000D at Issue 2.3 XML should be used for this purpose and it goes further by defining several parameters and features of the ASD specification which need to be tailored for the shipping arena. By ensuring that all parties involved in a maritime project conform to the same Protocol the movement of data between contracted organisations is guaranteed.
Mekon Aerospace and Defence consultants have a long experience of the ASD S1000D Specification and are therefore well placed to look at S1000D and apply the Shipdex rules.
