ATA iSpec 2200 is a global aviation industry standard for the content, structure, and electronic exchange of aircraft engineering, maintenance, and flight operations information.
It comprises a suite of data specifications related to maintenance requirements and procedures, aircraft configuration control, and flight operations.
Whereas previously this information was contained in two separate specifications, ATA100 and Spec 2100, iSpec 2200 was introduced to consolidate these specifications into a single specification to allow guidance in preparing technical documentation in support of aircraft maintenance.
The specification is controlled by the Air Transport Association and has been the standard to which the majority of Civilian Aircraft publications comply.
As a specification it tightly specifies how the material should be written and, perhaps more important, how the information should be modified.
Mekon Aerospace and Defence consultants have long experience of the specification, some having experience in writing to the standard themselves.
