Eclipse Create S1000D for FrameMaker allows creation of a wide range of Data Module (DM) types in different specification issues, which can be saved out as SGML or XML, or printed to specification compliant PDFs.
The application provides a clear and concise interface and has the ability to obtain printed page layouts for the various structured files which conform to the relevant specification layout instructions.
The functionality provides the ability to insert all varieties of S1000D graphic types into data modules.
CGM Graphic files can contain hotspots and the Mekon plug-in allows the author to associate hotspots in CGM type graphic files with the underlying DM hotspot elements as it has PTC IsoView (formerly an Itedo product) integrated.
The Mekon plug-in allows CGM related cross-referencing between text and graphic, graphic and text and graphic to graphic.
It is possible to integrate the Eclipse Create S1000D plug-in with a Common Source Data Base (CSDB), which allows for:
- obtaining Data Module codes from the CSDB for ease of refdm insertion
- obtaining Graphics from the CSDB and inserted into the DM
- ease of interfacing with the CSDB checkin and checkout processes
Although Eclipse Create for S1000D for FrameMaker has the ability to print single Data Modules to a high standard another Mekon Application, the plug-in can be enhanced by combining this plug-in with Eclipse BookBuild, which has the ability to combine many Data Modules into a book in any order that the user requires.
