Eclipse AirCrew is a specialised application for the editing and publishing of AirCrew Descriptive Manuals and fully formatted Flight Reference Cards. All of the various structures are configured into the application which has the ability to handle multi-section and multi-chapter publications. Of particular note is the application’s ability to accommodate correctly formatted algorithms which may have multiple parallel flows.

Documents in excess of 600 pages/cards are managed with all of the required tables of contents and illustrations and, where applicable, coloured and annotated tabs being automatically created prior to publication. The management of the documents includes correct display of the change markers, effectivity of pages and multiple security levels, chapterised figure and table numbers.

Single and grouped caption, and caption text can be located in the appropriate places and still retain the full change marker and effectivity functionality of the application. Advanced information leaflet production is provided with specific easily accessible functions.

Two important additional features have been incorporated. These are the ability to:

• Import AirCrew Manuals and Flight Reference Cards created and maintained in earlier versions of the DTD
  
• Import AECMA based Air Crew Descriptive and Flight Reference Card publications and convert them into the required DTD structure¹

Output for printing can be either to a local printer or to a service provider by means of a PDF file.
